Hello and thank you for stopping by! We are David and Diana Hartsoe. We live in South Pittsburg, TN. We currently have 5 German Shepherd's. The first (Hannah, arrived Christmas Eve, `97. Via "Santa's Elf". I had been dropping hints about wanting a GSD, and of course the hints were getting me no where. I finaly just blurted out that we had an appointment and needed to go to the breeders. When we arrived, David wanted 1 pup and I wanted the other. So I had to give in, especially since she was my present to him. As the weeks went on I couldn't get the other pup out of my mind. I got lucky when I called the breeder and found out she was still there and not sold. And home Helga came too. Well, I now have both dogs, and Hannah isn't David's anymore (that old saying about the way to a man's heart holds true to dogs too!). The girls are very eager to learn and enjoy the challenges we set out to accomplish together. This past year (1999), we added 2 solid black females, (truly beautiful-and yes, 1 was David's Christmas present again, while the other, Roxxi, was my anniversary present) and a very regal and handsome black and tan male (mine of course). We aquired these 3 babies from Reinmiller Kennels in TN. We waited 2 years for the breeding and are extremly glad we did! Our little Stormy is a natural at cadaver work, (I think she has David's personality), and Roxxi is just setteling in for now, while my little Cujo is pretty good on track and air scent, (plus he is mine so he has to be better). Thank you Reinmiller Kennels for our new kids, you just do not know the pleasure we have with them. (They also have a pedigree service for GSD, very good, reliable, and the price is one of the best we have seen!) We (well David) also purchased an Akita (Nikki) in the spring of `99. Now this little girl WANTS to work. She likes the finding part, very eager and willing to try it. She is a lot diffrent in training from that of the German Shepherds, and this is a new experience for for us (owning or rather being owned by an Akita). Since our move to Tennessee, we have found a GREAT Search and Rescue unit. Hamilton County S.T.A.R.S. They are a very active group, one that is very eager and willing to do "real training", with mock rescues, training in all areas of rescue (kind of like continueing education), and we hope to learn much from them. A bored dog, that is not living up to his/her potential, is a sad thing. As owners of German Shepherds, or really any breed that shows an interest in training, or working should be used, for something, as most dogs enjoy having a job to do. GREAT NEWS!! David has just completed and PASSED his NASAR-SAR Tech II! He is currently working toward SAR Tech I certification! I am very proud of him, and hope to complete and certify for my SAR Tech II this fall. Reinmillers link can be found our our page of links, stop in and take a browse thru their pages. I promise you will not be disappointed.
